FAA 7460-1 Construction Crane Permits

Prior to undertaking construction activities in the vicinity of an airport (preferably in the early stages of project development) please check with State and Local Government jurisdictions for any forms, permits or notices that may be required locally. For general information regarding federal airspace regulations please click on Federal Aviation Regulations Part 77

In addition, the FAA requires a permit on construction cranes that might exceed a 100:1 sloped surface from the nearest point of the nearest runway horizontally out to 20,000 feet or 200 feet AGL in the vicinity of an airport.

In order to avoid permitting delays, Form 7460-1 must be submitted to the FAA at least 30 days prior to the proposed construction start date.  For further information and to file an e-form FAA 7460-1 click on the following link: https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/portal.jsp
